Rev. Mark A. Flowers, Sr., a native of Statesville, North Carolina, is the son of L.J. and Vera Brown Flowers. He is a 1994 graduate of North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. From an early age, Rev. Flowers developed a heart for ministry and credits his upbringing with instilling the values he holds most dear: God, family, and Kingdom service.

Rev. Flowers was ordained to the Diaconal Ministry by Bishop Stenneth E. Powell, Sr. at Abundant Life Church of God in Christ in Raleigh, North Carolina. After a career opportunity led him to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia, he continued his commitment to ministry by joining Total Grace Christian Center in Decatur, Georgia, under the leadership of Bishop Jonathan E. Alvarado, Sr. There, he was first licensed to the pulpit ministry.

In 2009, Rev. Flowers relocated from Atlanta to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to support his wife as she pursued her law degree. He and his family joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where, under the leadership of Dr. Nathan E. Scovens, he was licensed and ordained to the pulpit ministry. During his time at Galilee, Rev. Flowers served with the Ministerial Team, Mission and Outreach Ministries, and Worship and Arts Department.

In 2026, the congregation of First Baptist Church Village Drive elected Rev. Flowers to serve as its next Pastor. He will be formally installed on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Professionally, Rev. Flowers is employed by Quality Education Institute, where he serves as Program Administrator. In this role, he helps support the educational development and growth of young learners and the effective administration of the program.

Rev. Flowers is married to his college sweetheart, Tina. During their 30 years of marriage, they have been blessed with three children—Mark II, Tiffany, and Matthew—and two grandchildren, Madelyn and Tyson. He considers his loving and supportive family among God’s greatest blessings.

Rev. Flowers is also a member in good standing of the Winston-Salem (NC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He serves his local chapter as Assistant Keeper of Records, Chaplain, and Chair of the Guide Right Program. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Guide Right Program for the Middle Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Throughout his life, Rev. Flowers has remained committed to the principles established in him from an early age—faithfulness to God, devotion to family, service to others, and advancing the work of the Kingdom.
